Pirate Of Caribbean : At World’s End Aftermath

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

After watching the movie twice.. I like the “Hoist The Colors” sang by assembled men and women sentenced for execution by the East India Trading Company at Fort Charles in Port Royal, after a boy, facing the gallows, began singing while holding a piece of eight. Even Elizabeth Swann sang a portion of the song at Singapore.

Damn.. The song is so damn nice!

“Dangerous song to be singing, for any who are ignorant of its meaning.”
So, Don’t simply sing the song. I’m not Responsible for any consequences.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Here the lyrics…

The King and his men stole the Queen from her bed,
And bound her in her bones.
The seas be ours, and by the powers,
Where we will, we’ll roam.

Yo ho, all hands,
Hoist the colours high.
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
Never shall we die.

Yo ho, all together,
Hoist the colours high.
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
Never shall we die.

Some men have died and some are alive and others sail on the sea –
with the keys to the cage…
and the Devil to pay
we lay to Fiddler’s Green.

The bell has been raised
from its watery grave…
Do you hear its sepulchral tone?
We are a call to all,
pay head the squall
and turn your sail toward home.

Yo ho, all together,
Hoist the colours high.
Heave ho, thieves and beggars,
Never shall we die.
